Alzheimer's Association - Kentucky Chapters

The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research.

Autism Society of Kentuckiana (A.S.K.)

The Autism Society of Kentuckiana (A.S.K.) holds support and informational meetings on the second Saturday of every month from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Kentucky School for the Blind (1867 Frankfort Avenue, Louisville).

Autism Society of the Bluegrass

The Autism Society of the Bluegrass is a resource and support group for families and professionals in the Central Kentucky area who are involved with autism. We are a chapter of the Autism Society of America and a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. We provide education as well as scholarships for our members to obtain continuing autism-related education.

CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder)

CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is the nation's leading non-profit organization serving individuals with AD/HD and their families. CHADD has over 16,000 members in 200 local chapters throughout the U.S. Chapters offer support for individuals, parents, teachers, professionals, and others.

Council on Mental Retardation - Parent Outreach

For over fifty years, since the Council On Mental Retardation was created by a group of concerned parents, Parent Outreach activities have been a core part of the Council! About 25 years ago on a more formal basis, the Parent Outreach program was established because parents realized the tremendous benefits they gained through their interactions with one another. Since that time the Council has provided a staff person who works with the Parent Outreach Committee to develop ways to facilitate ongoing friendships between parents of infants, children, and adult children with mental retardation.

Kentucky Partnership for Families and Children (KPFC)

The Kentucky Partnership for Families and Children (KPFC) has a 30-member board that consists of agency-affiliated professionals and caregivers of children with emotional, behavioral, and/or mental health challenges.

Learning Disabilities Association of Kentucky

The Learning Disabilities Association of Kentucky, Inc. is a non-profit organization of individuals with learning differences and attention difficulties, their parents, educators, and other service providers. This organization has been a continuous voice in this state for those who learn differently since 1966.

The goals of LDA are:

  • to embrace the challenge to educate the general public on the characteristics of learning disability, attention deficit disorder, dyslexia, etc.
  • to support parents of the individuals with learning differences through information sharing and support.
  • to make available to professionals information that will assist them as service providers; and
  • to provide direct services that will assist those who learning differently become more productive, independent, and self-motivated contributors to society.

NAMI Kentucky

NAMI Kentucky is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Our primary focus is to provide support, education and advocacy for those who have severe mental illnesses as well as their families. We strive as an organization to educate ourselves and the general public about the prevalence of mental illnesses, alternative treatments and the need for community facilities and services.

Spinal Cord Injury Association of Kentucky (SCIAK)

In the fall of 2002, practioners, individuals with spinal cord injury, and advocacy groups met and established the Spinal Cord Injury Association of Kentucky (SCIAK). The mission of SCIAK is to serve those affected by spinal cord injury through increased awareness, greater resource availability and support services, enhanced educational and preventative interventions, as well as increased athletic and recreational opportunities.
