Federal Benefits for Veterans and Dependents

Veterans of the United States armed forces may be eligible for a broad
range of programs and services provided by the United States Department of
Veterans Affairs (VA). The VA issues an annual summary of benefits that
can be an excellent start to understanding the different programs and
benefits a veteran may be eligible to receive.

Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP)

The Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) is dedicated to improving results for infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities ages birth through 21 by providing leadership and financial support to assist states and local districts.

Benefits For Children With Disabilities

This booklet is for the parents, caregivers or representatives of children under age 18 who have disabilities that might make them eligible for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments.

It is also for adults who became disabled in childhood and who might be entitled to Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits. (We call this SSDI benefit a “child’s” benefit because it is paid on a parent’s Social Security earnings record.)

This booklet will help you decide if your child, or a child you know, might be eligible for Social Security or SSI.

Medicare.gov is "the official US government site for people with Medicare." It provides a great deal of information about everything related to Medicare.

It also provides a free, secure online service for accessing your Medicare information called My.Medicare.gov. As a registered user of My.Medicare.gov, you will have access to personalized information regarding your Medicare benefits and services. You may use My.Medicare.gov to:

  • View claim status (excluding Part D claims),
  • Order a duplicate Medicare Summary Notice (MSN) or replacement Medicar
